It's our 2nd wedding anniversary today. The traditional gift for the 2nd year of marriage is cotton, the modern gift is china [who comes up with these random materials??? And sorry, you'll have to wait till your 100th anniversary for a 10 carat diamond :) ooh, I like the italicized smiley face]. Jamie and I eschew anniversary gifts; we are planning on going to a Minneapolis student art fair later in the month to pick up our yearly art piece.
I was looking for a good restaurant for our anniversary dinner tonight, and came across The Kenwood. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, and it sounds like a cozy [i.e. small] space, so I decided against it and made reservations at Forepaugh's instead. When Jamie came home from work last night, I told him about the dinner reservation, and he said he had been asking around too, and he found the restaurant we should go to, but they don't take reservations. Yep, you guessed it, it was The Kenwood! We had both independently picked the same restaurant. I'm not sure if it means we have the married couple telepathy thing going on, or if there are only so many decent restaurants in the Twin Cities that we haven't been to. More likely the latter. :)
Except Jamie isn't feeling so well this morning, he called in sick and is sleeping it off, so hopefully he'll feel better later in the day.
Happy anniversary! That was a FAST 2 years. Hope Jamie feels better and is ready to celebrate. Love, Sue and Jessie
