SPCO - October 8th

Section 1LC, Row A, Seats 15 & 16

Jamie took this cool panorama of the Ordway concert hall! We went to our first Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra performance of the 2016.17 season last Saturday night. That weird choir loft seating above the stage? Those are actually pretty decent seats! Thought we would feel self-conscious facing the audience the entire night, but it wasn't so bad. We had a great view of the musicians and got to see Jeremy Denk tinkle the ivories up close.

The program:
Märchenbilder (Fairy-Tale Pictures) for Viola and Piano, Opus 113, Robert Schumann
Maiya Papach, viola | Jeremy Denk, piano

Concerto No. 23 in A for Piano and Orchestra, K. 488, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Hommage à R. Sch. for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano, Opus 15d, György Kurtág
Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet | Hyobi Sim, viola | Jeremy Denk, piano

Symphony No. 2 in B-flat, D. 125, Franz Schubert

p.s. And Jamie and I "celebrated" our 5-year wedding anniversary today! We had a lovely brunch at Birchwood Cafe, and just spent the day relaxing with the doggies. xoxo
